How much does it cost to join the Guild?

The most popular category is Full Guild Membership, which costs just £85 per year. Associate and Student Membership costs just £55 per year. There is a one-off joining fee of £10 for all membership categories.

Does Guild Membership Include Insurance?
Full membership of the Guild of Holistic Therapists automatically covers you for Treatment, Public and Product Liability cover. The most popular beauty and holistic treatments are included in the full membership package.

What is the limit of the Guild's Insurance cover?
The cover provided is that the member is indemnified up to a limit of £2,000,000 in respect of Public Liability for any one occurrence or series of occurrences but in all, in any one period of insurance for Professional Treatment arising out of the members business.

What does the treatment liability cover?
Treatment liability covers you in the event of a claim being made against you in the event of you injuring a client during the course of a treatment e.g. if you burn someone with wax.

What does the product liability cover?
Product liability covers you in the event of a client having a reaction to a product during the course of a treatment or indeed if she purchases a retail product from you to use at home.

What does public liability cover me for?
Public liability covers your client whilst the client is in the treatment room in case she falls off the couch or trips over in the treatment room.

Is there a policy excess?
Yes. The excess for Public & Professional Treatment Liability, and Third Party Property Damage is £100.00. For your own property extension, the excess is £250.00

I am a mobile Therapist/Nail Technician/Holistic Therapist. Will the insurance cover me to work in my clients' homes?
Yes, our policy will cover you to work anywhere in the UK.

I own a salon. If I personally become a Full Guild member does this cover include my staff?
No. Only Full GPBT, GHT and GNT Members, Specific Skills and Student Members are covered by the Guild's group insurance policy. Membership and insurance cover is on an individual basis and does not cover employees or work experience students, unless they too are Full GPBT, GHT, GNT, Specific Skills or Student Members of The Guild.

Does the Guild offer a reduced rate if I join all of my staff?
Yes, we offer Group membership for groups of 4 or more therapists, and this gives a saving of £15 per therapist compared to joining the Guild individually. Group Membership fees are £70 per fully qualified therapist or £45 per student. A joining fee at £10 per therapist is payable on application, but is not applicable upon renewal. Please remember when applying for Group membership to add the cost of any special treatment extensions required per individual therapist. Eg. Red Vein, IPL Hair Removal or Hairdressing etc. We can replace a therapist at no extra cost as long as it is within 4 weeks of the original therapists leaving. If your staff size grows we are able to add additional therapists at pro rata rate.
