Social Media Report

The Beauty Industry Survey for Social Media was carried out through Beautyguild.com which is the website of the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists and is the UK’s largest professional beauty website. The data for the survey was collected over a period from 17/12/14 to 16/1/15. A total of 312 people completed the questionnaire.

 

Objectives

The objectives of the survey were:

  • To examine if social media is used to promote beauty business.
  • To find out what the most popular social media website was, when promoting beauty businesses.
  • To find out the average amount of social media followers beauty businesses had.
  • To find out how often therapists posted on social media, and what content they usually posted about.
  • To find out about client interaction and the positives and negatives of social media.
  • To find out the most popular professional beauty brand to follow on social media.
