The Guild Beauty Industry Surveys

Lash Treatments – August 2015

Lash treatments have seen a surge in popularity recently. The demand for training courses can be seen from the Training Directory on Beautyguild.com. Eyelash and Eyebrow treatments were the third most popular courses searched for, behind nail enhancements and holistic treatments. The first lash treatments survey was run in June 2014, and such is the interest in the treatments that another survey in 2015 was considered appropriate.

Survey Methodology

The Beauty Industry Survey for Lash Treatments was carried out through Beautyguild.com which is the website of the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists and is the UK’s largest professional beauty website. The Lash Treatment questionnaire was available from 4/7/14 to 29/7/14. A total of 206 unique visitors responded to the specific questionnaire on lash treatments and brands.

Patch Testing

The requirement for therapists to carry out a patch test 24 hours prior to doing a lash treatment is a standard warranty of most insurance policy. The patch test, usually carried out on another area of the client’s skin ensures that the client is not sensitive to the glue and or pigment. We gave therapists three different patch test areas, with a fourth option of not carrying out a patch test. The options and results are shown in a table in the full report.
